Here’s a couple of videos that have been floating around the web recently. If you haven’t already seen them now’s your chance.
The first is Paul Robertson’s new animation, Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006. It’s a big download, but worth it. Incredible pixel animation.
The next video is Tyger. […]

I’d like to put in a good word today for the website Mersey Remakes, “a couple of folks who love old games”. The great thing about this site is it’s dedicated to remaking some of the old classics. They give the games away for free, all for the love of the old games. […]

TIGSource is back up. Great news, it was sorely missed these last months, as it’s a great source for indie news and gossip.

Thunder Vector is a pretty good shmup written in Flash. It’s got some nice graphics, especially the level introductions. Fairly standard gameplay, you’ve got different weapons that can be powered up, but switching starts you off at zero again. There’s a combo meter for scoring, keep it going by chaining kills before […]

I made a promise to mention Urban Rivals again (review here), and I’m happy to do that. I’m having a lot of fun playing it now and then, just popping on-line for a quick game or two. The pace of the games is perfect, and there are always willing opponents available. I’ve […]

Quite a few good articles on the indie game seen in this week’s The Escapist. Of particular interest is this one on dojin software development.

Seems these things go in cycles for me, but I ran across another Asteroids update, Belter. This game’s free to play in your browser (it’s made with Flash) and features updated graphics as well as a bunch of new enemy and asteroid types. Only problem I have is the acceleration of your rotation… […]

Independent Gaming pointed me to The Clickzine, an online gaming “magazine” that looks to be pretty interesting. Interestingly enough, from the “the world is smaller than you think” department they’ve got a preview of Stygian there, a game I was lucky enough to get a look at as well.

I haven’t played Absolute Blue for awhile, having tried the demo a year ago or so. I just wanted to point out the unofficial site for it at Intermediaware. There’s another couple interesting pages there, a Making Of and an article The history of shoot’em’up games. The making of is by far […]

Courtesy of Jay Is Games I’ve just learned that Hapland 3 is now out. I mentioned Hapland 1 and 2 before. They’re all very clever point and click puzzles, all very well done. Point your browser and go have some fun.
